Just what is a picture worth? To some not much, but to others a picture is worth a thousand words.
The world is clamoring for proof of the recent death of the al-Qaida’s leader’s death at the hands of the US Navy Seals in their recent covert raid on his compound in the Pakistani town of Abbottabad.
The power of an image is evident by these recent activities. The world wants proof that he is dead. However, at the same time to release the image would be to insight many to further confrontations.
Images illicit emotions from good to bad. These emotions are generally what a photographer wants to bring out in the viewer. We strive for our viewers to make a connection to the work that we present for them. Politics aside, photographers can produce images that inspire people to feel and in some cases to act.
How they act, we can’t always predict.
