Christmas Cookies
There is a restaurant in town that Dawn and I along with our two good friends, Krissie and Joe, go to, well, a lot. When we are there we always sit at the same table, when it is available, which is most of the time. You see, table #99 (yes, we know it by its number) is rather a different table to sit at. It is an “+” shaped table and unless you know how best to sit at it, you would avoid it. We started sitting there because it was always available, even when there was a wait to get into the main portion of the dinning area. “Our” table is in the Bar portion of the restaurant, so only people that are over 21 can sit there, which is another reason that it is generally available. To sit there you have to position yourself in the right angle portion of the table, with both elbows on both sides of the nearest portion of the table. It works fine, when your food comes just put your plate on the left side and you are all set. We do it all the time.
When I say we are there a lot, I mean that. for a time, Dawn and I were having lunch there every other day with Joe (poor Krissie works in the next town over so she does not have enough time to make it there and back). Now, the food is good there, (although we feel the steaks are not as good as they once were, but we blame the economy on that) and it is convenient for us to get there, but what keeps us going back is the staff. One of my favorite TV shows was Cheersand like the theme songs says:
“Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot.
Wouldn't you like to get away?
Sometimes you want to go
Where everybody knows your name,
and they're always glad you came.
You wanna be where you can see,
our troubles are all the same
You wanna be where everybody knows
Your name.”
And they do know our names, and what we like to drink and eat, although we through them a curve every now and then just to keep them from getting board with us. Generally they see us coming through the window (we park right in front of the window in the bar) and they will have our drinks sitting on the table when we get to the table. Many times the manager will even eat their lunch with us, or just sit down with us to talk about this or that.
Every Christmas the four of us (mostly Dawn and Krissie) back up several batches of cookies and put them in a decorative box and present it to the employees at Logan’s as a way to show our appreciation for them, It might not be much, but except for buying the franchise and giving everyone a bonus, it is what we do.
Below are some of the pictures from this years cookie event.

It really is so very nice to go where everyone “knows your name” and where you feel welcome.
Merry Christmas to our friends at Logan’s Roadhouse in Mishawaka, Indiana.
