Sarah in a Blue Dress on Yellow Paper

Sometimes the wardrobe is the inspiration for the photo session.  One day while Dawn and I were in our friend's and neighbor's dress store they showed us the dresses that had just come in that day and one jumped out at me right away.  Donnie and Armando, from Elegant Designs, are wonderful people and just great to work with, and they are funny too, and when they brought out one of their new quinceanera dresses, I just fell in love with it!  It was a medium kelly blue dress with gold stripes and accents, and I just new I had to photograph someone in that, well, most of it.  The dress came in four pieces: The jacket, top, bottom, and big skirt.  I wanted to use everything except for the big skirt bottom, which was lovely, but I just didn't want to use that part.

The blue dress didn't sit long when I found someone perfect to wear it; Sarah one of our COS Play models. I asked if she wanted to come in and she said an energetic "Yes!"  I love that about her, she is full of energy.  We have shot with Sarah before, and I will soon share those images with you all soon, however for now I will show you the images we shot on simple yellow paper.  Interestingly enough, the yellow paper had just come in the day of the session as our buddy and fellow photographer--Rob Miller--had just bought a bunch of things from a local photographer that was closing down his studio.  You should see the blue paper!  ;-)
