Kirsty Mitchell's The Wonderland Series

Dawn is always surprising me with presents (I love her for that trait) and one of them was a very large, think photo book called Wonderland by artist Kirsty Mitchell (no relation that I can find, but there is always hope).  A dress designer by training, Kirsty created a storyline devoted to honor her mother whom she lost to cancer. It somewhat chronicles her mother's journey with her cancer.

I loved the book and all of its images, they are truly wondrous!  The story line was also a personal one for me as I was going through my own journey with cancer as well.  The imagery that Kirsty has created allowed me to lose myself in them and forget my own issues and think only about the gorgeous costumes and locations in the pictures.  It made me think long about what can be accomplished with personal projects.

Kirsty started this self publishing book project on Kickstarter and Dawn signed up and paid right away.  Due to the exchange timing issues her "pledge" wasn't taken so she did not get the very first round of books that were signed, but did get the second round of unsigned books.
