Amber & Teddy's Wedding

Well it has finally come and gone.  They only had about six months to plane, but it finally went off without a hitch.  The grooms stepmother--Carmen--and her sister Dawn deserve a lot of thanks as they did most of the work to get the wedding off the ground and to the finish line.  They did a marvelous job, especially with the short time that they had to work with and the extremely low budget they had.

For months the girls were working with Teddy & Amber to find out what they really wanted in their wedding and to match that with the limited funds they had.  Little by little ideas would get set and actions would be taken.  The pulled pork was bought one pork shoulder at a time, cooked one at a time and then frozen one at a time until the wedding day. 

The church and reception hall was found, but how best to decorate it?  The girls again went into action and recruited their parents Carolyn and Dave to help out.  Dave was recruited to make some large 3 ft. x 4 ft. wall decorations which he made out of  two inch thick pink foam insulation board.  He made a paper flower template from hand and then traced it out and then using a Dremel carved out the flower.  Then he rolled it with gray paint and then hand painted the inside of the flowers, they came out beautiful!

We got some additional decorations; tulling, colored stones, lights, flowers, cake top from two previous weddings that Dawn and I shot...thanks Becky and Merie for lending them to us.

When it came to decorating the church and reception hall the family members went into overdrive to get it all done.  They did a great job with the little they had, but they really showed that you don’t have to have a lot of money to make a wedding look great!  Although having talented, crafty relatives sure does help!

The bride’s friend donated the flowers, and another made the cake, and the grooms aunt made big letters to go on the wall behind the head table, and friends of the mother-in-law did kitchen duty.

Even the DJ helped out with his bill and in doubling as the MC for the night, thanks  Larry Filion, Smooth Entertainment for doing that.  We worked with him at another wedding, which is how we got him for this one.  It it good to have contacts.

When it was all said and done, it was really a nice wedding which every bride and groom deserve.
