Hurray, hurray! We have been waiting for so long for spring to get here and I think it is finally here! Michael enjoy's winter because that means it's hockey season and he can skate and coach, and I must admit that I like the change of seasons also, and the snow, but not the slush! However, winter has kept lingering on and on, and we all up here in Northern Indiana just wanted it to end. Well, the trees are blossoming and the flowers are blooming and the pollen is making us all sneeze, but at least it is warm and sunny!
This morning the weatherman said that it was going to be a great morning but that the afternoon and evening would bring rain and thunderstorms, so I decided to grab one of our old camera bodies and get out and make the most of the morning.
We like to keep all of our gear in good working condition, so we try to use everything we have, from time to time, to keep it in shape. So, today calls for the old Canon Rebel XT, but I will put one of our new lenses on it, a 50mm F1.4 and head out to one of our favorite parks here in Elkhart.
I credit Chase Jarvis--a famous photographer, and co-developer of the CreativeLive company that does on-line training that we love--with the quote: "The best camera is the one you have with you." Even though our old Rebel XT is old it still works fine and what really matters is that it captures what I tell it to capture, it sees what I see, so I am grabbing from mother nature the scene that I want. It is all about the composition, technique and not necessarily the gear...but don't tell Michael because he is all about the tech and the gear! LOL
I hope you enjoy the images below, from my walk in the park this morning, as much as I did in taking them!
